His Holy Name

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thess 5:21 (KJV) God wants us to find what is holy and what is not holy. He wants us to seek that which is right and turn from that which is wrong. We are supposed to study the word of God and discern the meaning of all things. Most of the time we can just read the bible and know what it means. I believe that almost all things in the bible are literal with the exception of course of the parables and Revelations. I believe our Lord and Savior showed us some examples of this. He also spoke in parables but I am talking about the majority of scripture. Imagine if we were radical enough to believe the bible as it was written and quit trying to add to and take away, so it fits into our lives. Let’s look at a couple of examples. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matt 4:3-4 (KJV) The reference to this is Deut 8:3. Our Lord used this passage to turn satan away. We know how powerful the word of God is and Our Lord showed us this is these passages. He used it literally as it was written. 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Deut 8:3 (KJV) 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Matt 4:5-7 (KJV) There are two references here. If anyone besides our Lord had said this we could have turned it around by saying, David wasn’t talking about Jesus or we could have said the tempting was not the same at Massah, but since these words came from the son of God we have to believe they are a literal interpretation and Jesus knew this, that is why he used these references. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Psalms 91:11-12 (KJV) 16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. Deut 6:16 (KJV) I am showing these scriptures also as a reference to show that we do need to take the Holy Scriptures literally. We need to understand that when God says something it is truth, the end. Just because we do not understand this does not mean that we should change it to make sense to our little worldly brains. Some truths are God has and will kill people who refuse to worship him. God will strike people with diseases. God has used evil people to do his will. God has made many commandments that he wants us to keep even if we can’t. God has done all of these things and he is Holy. He is only Good. This does not make sense sometimes but it is still true. Let’s talk about the name of Jehovah and Jesus. If we found out something that was untrue would we be willing to change everything we know to make it true? 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matt 6:9 (KJV) We are to honor the name of God. His true name. 4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Prov 30:3-4 (KJV) What Name? 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matt 1:21 (KJV) His name is to be JESUS. If you look up the name of Jesus in a dictionary of names it will say savior, deliverer. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:9-11 (KJV) A name above every name. At his name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord. So is his true name Jesus? NO it is not. Do you ever get that really queasy feeling when you find truth and realize what you have done in the past. I got this feeling when I got about half way through this bible study. His name is Yahshua. Before Satan tries to put something in someone’s head about what does it matter, think about how important we look at names. We will try and find the perfect name for our baby, why? What does it matter, because this is what we want to call our child. Why did God change the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sara? Because it mattered. Regardless of what we have been told Jesus is not his God Given name, it is a manmade name that was not even created until 1630. Now we are going to go over some historical facts about the name of our Lord. The name Jesus was not in the original King James Version Bible because the letter J was not used until 1630 and the KJV was finished in 1611. Here is the original passages from above in the original KJV. Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a sonne, and thou shalt call his Name Iesus: for hee shall saue his people from their sinnes. Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and giuen him a Name which is aboue euery name: Php 2:10 That at the Name of Iesus euery knee should bow, of things in heauen, and things in earth, and things vnder the earth: Php 2:11 And that euery tongue should confesse, that Iesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Why was the I replaced with a J? The form of J was unknown in any alphabet until the 14th century. Either symbol (J,I) used initially generally had the consonantal sound of Y as in year. Gradually, the two symbols (J,l) were differentiated, the J usually acquiring consonantal force and thus becoming regarded as a consonant, and the I becoming a vowel. It was not until 1630 that the differentiation became general in England. There is much information on this subject. You can research this on many Hebrew, Greek, English, Christian and Jewish websites. I encourage everyone to research this extensively. So what about the name of God? It has a J in it. No it doesn’t. God’s name given to Moses is Yahweh. There was a time when the name “Yahweh” was too sacred to pronounce, and to speak this name was blasphemy and punishable by death. Most people and lower level priests were initially taught to say “Adonai” when they saw the name “Yahweh” or the tetragrammaton written. YHWH After all of this, was it possible for the angel Gabriel to have told Mary to name the baby Jesus? No the name was Yahshua. It is also impossible for God to be named Jehovah. 2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. Ex 6:1-3 (KJV) The Masoretes, who from about the 6th to the 10th century worked to reproduce the original text of the Hebrew Bible, replaced the vowels of the name YHWH with the vowel signs of the Hebrew words Adonai or Elohim. Thus, the artificial name Jehovah (YeHoWaH) came into being. This is a generic name of God so people would not dishonor God’s real name by not pronouncing it right or even taking it in vain. How can someone take the name of God in vain if they do not know what his name is? Let’s look at this in a different way. Take any one of you names. Translate it into another language. My name would be Christobal, Crisoforo, Risto, or Krzysztof. I would not answer to any of these because none of these are my name. The name Christopher means one who bears Christ inside or the Christ bearer. The name Michael in Hebrew means "one who is like God". Now why would I want to have my name changed? What if someone decided to call me Chuck Martin instead of Christopher Michael? My name would then mean a free man dedicated to mars. If our Lord’s name is not that important then why did God tell Mary what his name was going to be. The name Yahshua has many parts. It can be broken down into each letter or it can be broken into two parts. I encourage you to research how it is broken into each Hebraic letter. I will show how it is broken into two parts. The first part is Yah, this is the first part of God’s name. Yah actually means God. Shua means to save, so Yahshua means God saves. Yashua also means salvation in the old testament. This is the exact same name given to Joshua the successor of Moses. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. Acts 26:14-15 (KJV) Why did Paul say that he heard a voice speaking to him in the Hebrew tongue? Could our Lord have said Jesus in the Hebrew tongue? No he couldn’t have because Paul would not have understood it. Our Lord could have said his name in Greek and Paul would have understood it, but he chose Hebrew because he had a Hebrew name given by the Father. Ok that’s enough on the historical facts about the name of Jesus or Y’shua. I use Y’shua because everything I find about the name says that the name Yahshua or Yahoshua would have been spoken in a shorter version of Y’shua. Brother Paul did a message on the small things this last Sunday and I believe things like this should be addressed. I am not sure if this is a small thing or a big thing but I am pretty sure this is a Huge thing because there is power in the name of Y’shua. My family and I are going to work on this and try to break the habit of saying Jesus. I am not saying we will not use the name of Jesus anymore I said we are trying to break the habit of saying it. There is no doubt there is also power in the name of Jesus, but why did satan do this? All you have to do to understand that satan is in this is look at other names in the bible. Abraham, Sara, Esau, and even satan are almost said the same today as they were then. The names Jeremiah, Jacob, Josheph, and even Joshua are all the same except for the J which is actually a Y. So, why did Jehovah and Jesus have to change so much? I believe this happened because there is much more power in these names than any other names ever. All we have to do is say the wrong name and I believe satan knows this. Our Lord and Savior’s name is Yahshua, the son of Yahweh. Let’s praise him by name. Oh yeah one more thing the word Hallelujah is also spelled wrong. The correct spelling is Halleluyah, Praise Yah or Praise God. So let’s Praise Yahweh and let’s come to him in the name of Y’shua our Lord and Savior. This is truth.
